Fetal Movement
Beginning around 20 weeks, you should feel the baby's movements. By 26-28 weeks, you should
be aware of some movement every day. Lack of movement could be a sign of a problem. Therefore,
it is a good idea to pay close attention to whether or not the movement pattern has
changed. "Fetal kick counts" are performed by monitoring the baby's movements for
two hours after you have had a meal, and are able to relax and focus on what you feel. There
should be at least one movement within two hours. If not, eat something sweet, lie on your
left side, and monitor closely for one additional hour. If no movement is noted, go to
Labor and Delivery.
