Pregnancy: Weeks 11 – 15

Changes in fetus
• Over 2 inches in length from crown to rump
• Roughly ½ ounce in weight
• Arms and legs are beginning to move
• More-defined facial features
• First bone tissue appears
• Main organs are formed
• Fingers and toes more defined
• Fingernails and toenails starting to grow
Fetus, weeks 11-15

Changes in you
• Fatigue and sleepiness
• Frequent urination
• Nausea, possible vomiting
• Possible heartburn, indigestion
• Constipation
• Food aversions or cravings
• Breast tenderness, fullness
• Darkening of areolae
Pregnant woman, weeks 11-15


What to expect at your next office visit:
  • Weight and blood pressure check
  • Complete blood count
  • Urine test for sugar and protein
  • Fetal heartbeat
  • Size of uterus (determined by external palpation to see how it correlates to estimated due date)
  • Height of fundus (top of the uterus)
  • Chronic villous sampling (elective, patients 35 and over)
